Spend a Sunday afternoon with the Ars Nova Ensemble as they bring to you a brand new way to experience and engage with live music.

Synaesthesia is a unique, free-to-attend, and family-friendly weekend event brought to you by the Strings &amp; Things Collective, taking place in the intimate setting of the National Library Bugis. This is not a traditional concert; it is a captivating journey designed to transform the act of listening into a full sensory experience, bridging the gap between sound and sight for guests of all ages. The event features the Ars Nova Ensemble, who will contrast two masterful voices from different eras: the Baroque brilliance of Antonio Vivaldi and the Romantic soul of Alexander Borodin. Prepare for the crisp, rhythmic fire and vibrant textures of Vivaldi to be followed by the expansive, lyrical warmth and dramatic depth of Borodin’s melodies. This juxtaposition provides the perfect canvas for exploring how music can evoke color, movement, and touch. The concept of synaesthesia is brought to life through the integration of dynamic, real-time visual art that instantly mirrors the music's mood and structure. As the quartet performs, the auditory experience is immediately translated into shifting colors and textures, allowing the audience to literally see the music evolve. Furthermore, through unique participatory elements subtly woven throughout the performance, every audience member is invited to contribute directly to the sensory landscape, making this a truly collaborative and living art form. An expressive piece with projected artwork to highlight themes from the piece and a narrator to engage with the audience.

Part II: "An Introspective Journey" – Borodin String Quartet no. 2

A powerful, dramatic piece with projected artwork; Full audience participation is encouraged, with guided percussion with help from percussionist.
