Across two evenings, Strange Weather Dunia gathers sound and gesture into atmosphere, moving between ritual, improvisation, tension and release.

On 4 April, we welcome Sipaningkah (CHINABOT), the project of a Minangkabau improviser, sound artist and instrument builder based in Jakarta, who draws deeply from West Sumatran tradition into more experimental forms. His release Langkah Suruik features instruments both self-made and inherited, such as the tasauff, a percussion from his sonic lineages. His music is rooted and restless, steeped in folk memory, yet finding itself freshly alive.

Supported by the local forces ༺subplot systems༻ bringing the flavour. Live performances by Syafiq Halid and a Malay drum troupe. Kansh, Josh Tirados and Sharyfairy of Singapore Butoh Collective in solo movement interventions. Panel discussion moderated by HidzFM aka Hidzir Junaini. Along with the usual suspects, resident selectors YETPET and A’alely.

On 10 April, we host Tolouse Low Trax, the project of Detlef Weinrich, longtime DJ, producer and key figure of Düsseldorf’s Salon des Amateurs. Also known for his work with Kreidler, Weinrich has built a singular catalogue across labels such as Antinote, Karaoke Kalk, Themes For Great Cities, and Bureau B. As Tolouse Low Trax, he works with pulse, pressure and sly detours. Playful, hypnotic, and always a little off-centre.
