Miss Cassidy started as a short story about a Victorian governess in colonial Singapore who encounters a Pontianak. This fun little premise has now spun itself out into all the kinds of stories I love best, smooshing Asian and Western mythologies, Southeast Asian folk traditions and religions, and what I find most fascinating of all - our unique relationship with the supernatural.
