LOY Contemporary Art Gallery is an international gallery based in Singapore. Echoing Singapore’s strategic location at the crossroads of different Asian and European countries and cultures and their rich and dynamic histories, LOY takes pride in presenting an exhibition program that transcends borders across art communities. Through its artist representation, institutional partnerships, art consultancy and exhibition programming including art fairs and gallery collaborations, LOY aims at highlighting artistic voices from Southeast Asia, as well as cutting-edge artists from the wider international art scene.LOY was founded in 2023 and is located on bustling Tanglin Road in Singapore. Its 2nd location is located at Armenian Street next to the Peranakan Museum of Singapore.

Akai Chew will take an observational, conversational approach to discussing the role of micro and personal mythologies in city life, from the white beach under the Padang , the Singapore Stone site, and the 1972-2003 Merlion site.

LOY Contemporary Art Gallery is pleased to present Fragment of a Story, a showcase in light, heritage, myths and legends by Singaporean artist Akai Chew, in conjunction with Singapore Night Festival.Explore a highly conceptual historical showcase hosted at the LOY Gallery along Armenian Street, designed as a direct metaphorical mirror to the narrative structure of the Sejarah Melayu, or the Malay Annals. Rather than presenting history as a seamless, linear timeline, this curated exhibition treats ancient records as a mythological repository composed of distinct, poetic, and surreal fragments that collectively define the soul of our land.
