Ever wondered what it actually takes to make a game in Singapore?Behind the Games brings together local developers, working across video games and board games, to share their stories: what they are building, why they started, and what they have learned along the way. The game developers will talk about the struggles and turning points behind each project, the kind of conversation that comes from curiosity and genuine connection.After the talks, stick around for casual playtesting! Try the developers' games firsthand and chat with the people who made them, all around one big shared table instead of separate booths.Everyone is welcome: the game dev community, curious gamers, and anyone visiting the library that day.<h3>Speakers</h3><h4>Emmanuel Lim, Eatery at Ridge Station</h4>A cozy narrative game about cherishing the memories of loved ones, set in a train station eatery inspired by Japanese Tachigui."This one attitude can help you be a better game designer"Through quick thought experiments and real examples, Emmanuel makes the case that a healthy dose of respect, applied to how we design games, benefits the whole community.<h4>Nadrah Insyirah, Arcana Romance 2</h4>A dating sim full of quirky characters, and the follow up to her first game, which reached 19K downloads."No experience but I wanna develop a game anyway!"After feeling stuck in the local comics scene, Nadrah taught herself to build games from scratch. Three years into Arcana Romance 2, she shares her journey, what she has learned along the way, and maybe a sneak peek of what she is working on now.<h4>KS, Isekai the Board Game, Miracles of a Card Game, Fight Till the E.N.D</h4>Games built around themes that start out looking impossible to pull off."Exploring the impossibles with board game design"Five years into designing and marketing his own games, KS talks through what looked impossible along the way, from pulling off an ambitious theme to actually getting a game out into the world, along with what kept him motivated through the struggles.<h4>Musa Jaafar, Excavation, a tabletop game</h4>From the founder of Gamerdad Games and Edutainment, who uses play as a tool for learning, connection, and wellness."Lessons from playtesting Excavation"Drawing on lessons from playtesting Excavation, Musa covers where to actually go for focused, useful playtesting, whose feedback is worth listening to, and why.Rough Schedule<ul><li>3:00pm: Doors open, arrival and icebreakers</li><li>3:30pm to 4:50pm: Developer sharing, 20 minutes each with 10 minutes of talk and 10 minutes of Q&amp;A</li><li>5:00pm to 6:00pm: Casual playtesting and networking, may run a little later</li></ul>
