Unlearning the Death Penalty: Ending the War on the Poor

Transformative Justice Collective

Join the Transformative Justice Collective for an indoor candlelight vigil to commemorate World Day Against the Death Penalty on 10 October.

Redrum @ Filmhouse, Golden Mile Tower

On 10th October, the Transformative Justice Collective will hold Unlearning the Death Penalty: Ending the War on the Poor, an indoor candlelight vigil, to commemorate World Day Against the Death Penalty. This gathering is also a protest against the recent prosecution of peace activists and abolitionists for holding vigils and other acts of mourning. The programme will include speeches, a memorial for all the lives we have lost to the gallows from 2020, and tributes to the courageous death row prisoners who have advanced the anti-death penalty struggle in Singapore from behind bars.Join 200 others as we hold vigil, as we refuse to forget, as we insist on coming together even as the state tries to pry us apart. It will be a moving and profound experience of grieving, confronting despair, and building hope as a discipline, so we can keep fighting the good fight.
