VSL10 dives deep into the theme of womanhood, offering a heartfelt tribute to the diverse experiences of women navigating the ebbs and flows of life's journeys. The repertoire will feature moving performances by VSL, with special guest appearances by VSL alumni, VOS Silver Voices, VOS Starlight Voices, and the VSL ladies' very own children. Featuring the varied repertoire that VSL has embraced over the past decade, this 10th-anniversary special captures the essence of growth, resilience, and the timeless strength of women as they navigate life's evolving tides and passages. About the VOS Ladies ChoirFormally founded in 2014 as VOCO Singapore Ladies Choir by Artistic Director Darius Lim, the choir is the first independent all-female choral ensemble in Singapore. Consisting of semi-professional singers, musicians, educators and passionate amateurs, the choir joined VOS Choral Society at its inception in 2019 and was since renamed VOS Ladies Choir (VSL).The choir has performed with Philomela (Finland), University of London Chamber Choir, The Coronation Singers, and numerous other ensembles.In June 2016, the choir embarked on their first international European tour, where they travelled to give concerts in Amsterdam, Krakow, London (England), Great Rissington and Cardiff (Wales). During the tour, the choir was awarded the 2nd Prize in the Chamber Choir category of the 2016 Cracovia Cantans International Choir Competition in Krakow, Poland.In 2021, the choir received the Gold award at the World Choir Festival. More recently in 2023, VSL won the Grand Prix (overall best choir) at the 16th International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music in Bratislava, Slovakia. The choir competed in two categories, receiving Gold Bands for both, and was also the category winner for Female Adult Choirs. About Voices of SingaporeVoices of Singapore (VOS) is the nation’s largest singing organisation, and has a vision to Inspire a Singing Singapore. It houses a group of more than 20 diverse singing groups, and several choirs under the VOS Choral Excellence Programmes have garnered international arts awards.As an arts charity, VOS aims to make singing accessible to people from all walks of life. Its community impact programmes penetrate deep into society, reaching communities such as special needs, elderly, and children-at-risk. These programmes are supported by organisations such as Temasek Trust, Majurity Trust, the Oscar fund and the National Arts Council.VOS has organised singing events reaching over 50,000 people and its projects have garnered more than 3 million online views. The music videos and projects hope to be a source of inspiration for Singaporeans, and have been televised nationwide, including appearances at the National Day Parade, President's Star Charity and more. VOS's Virtual Choir rendition of Home has been displayed at the Singapore National Museum as well as various Singapore embassies around the world.VOS champions arts advocacy to the community through singing events and choral participation, inspiring and enabling individuals.
