In June 2022, the iconic Singapore music venue Blu Jaz reopened its live music program with the Jazz Loft, located on the 3rd floor of it’s premises at Bali Lane.The mission of this new space, is to showcase jazz, and improvisation, as an evolving art form, rather than a museum-piece, presenting those artists, both local and international, that are part of the forward motion, and artistic development of the music.

This latest iteration of the Joey van Leeuwen Trio introduces the phenomenon of Brazilian-Indian electric bassist Dhani Muñiz, while keeping the staple of our own wunderkind Chok Kerong on piano.

A highly sought after drummer and percussionist, he has relocated from his home in the USA to Chennai, the heart of South India and is active all over the country and internationally. CHOK KERONGA composer, producer and keyboardist of extraordinary clarity and depth, CHOK Kerong has distinguished himself as one of Singapore’s most versatile talents. His work has been performed by artists spanning multiple generations, such as Cultural Medallion winner Jeremy Monteiro, Rani Singam, KEYANA, Joanna Dong, Randy Brecker, Antonio Hart, T’ang Quartet and Young Artist Award winners Rit Xu and Charlie Lim.
