About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Participants will undertake playful exercises with writing and instant photography to evoke personal recollections that will encourage a deeper reflection on our relationship(s) with the world.

Built as an Exquisite Corpse word game, this workshop begins with the reading of two texts: Georges Perec’s I Remember (a repetitive list of memories) and Annie Ernaux’s The Years (a reflection on fading memories). As the biologist and the naturalist carefully and meticulously explores the strategic issues in their research and approaches to the world, the participants will likewise be invited to play with words and use the creative mechanism of storytelling to explore the relationship between the body and the memory.

At the end of the workshop, each participant will be invited to use instant photography to create new images that will be added to a bank of individual images collected by the artist over the years.
