Beginner Angler's Course

The Beginner Angler's Course aims to introduce fishing to those interested in trying out fishing or searching for a new hobby. It will be completed within a day on the scenic Lazarus Island, one of Singapore's best kept secrets. You will learn both the basic theory and practical aspects of fishing during a weekend getaway.

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to use a fishing setup confidently and know how to handle a fish that is caught.

**No experience required but we do recommend that you do not have any phobia of standing near the sea.**

HOW TO BOOK:

Please follow these 5 easy steps:

Step 1: Book a date for your practical session on the fishing yacht.

Step 2: Watch the online tutorials via the link sent to you.

Step 3: Tie at least a set of paternoster rig.

​Step 4: Complete the online quiz.

Step 5: Go for your practical session and enjoy your time on the water!

DURATION

• 40 mins online theory
• 4 hours practical on boat
  

PRACTICAL SCHEDULE:

08:45 am - Gather at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove

09:00 am - Fishing yacht departs ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove

09:30 am - Practical fishing at Southern Island

12:30 pm - Yacht departs for the mainland

01:00 pm - Yacht arrives at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove

The schedule stated above is for reference only and may be subject to change depending on the trip conditions.

GROUP SIZE:

Minimum 6 students are required for the course to be conducted. Groups and individuals will be combined to form a class.

AGE:

All ages from 5 years old and above. (5-12 year olds must be accompanied by at least an adult who is taking the course.)

COURSE INCLUDES:

• Beginner Angler's Course handbook
• Beginner Angler's fishing starter kit
• Access to online course video tutorials
• Fishing onboard fully equipped fishing yacht
• Fishing equipment rental required for the course
• Bait for fishing
• MFFA certification upon completion of the course
• Fishing equipment and accessories are provided free of charge to all students of MFFA

FISHING EQUIPMENT:

Fishing equipment and accessories are provided free of charge to all students of the fishing academy.(The rods and reels are sponsored by world leading fishing brand, Shimano.)

Students have the option to purchase their own fishing equipment to be used during the course, which includes a Shimano rod and reel with braided lines. As it is a special promotional price, this offer is only limited to one purchase per student (while stock lasts)*

ATTIRE:

Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be out in nature all day.

Theory lessons are conducted under shelter. You will expect to be seated on the ground during the course. Shorts or pants are recommended.

DON'T FORGET TO BRING:

• Drinking water
• Lunch
• Sun block
• Sunglasses
• Small pouch or bag to keep your starter kit
• Raincoat (in case of rain)
• Swim wear if you intend to take a dip in the sea during the breaks (There are no shower facilities but toilet with water hose is available for washing up)
