Dr David Huang Junsong

Associate Dean, Strategic Support & Analytics, Office of Education Research​

Senior Research Scientist, National Institute of Education - Office of Education Research​


Dr David Huang is the Associate Dean/ Strategic Support and Analytics at the Office of Education Research, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NIE/NTU) ), Singapore. He is also a senior education research scientist at NIE’s Centre for Research on Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP).​

David’s research interests include learning and transfer, AI for Education, human-AI augmented cognition, and innovation management. His recent research involves profiling and characterising learners through educational data mining of Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) datasets and optimising personalised pedagogical supports for learner agency and robust learning. ​

Dr Kwa Lay Ping

Senior Teaching and Learning Specialist, Singapore Polytechnic


Dr Kwa Lay Ping, a Senior T&L Specialist at Singapore Polytechnic, is a trailblazer in educational innovation. As the first polytechnic recipient of the President's Award for Teachers in 2017, she has garnered multiple teaching accolades in Singapore and the United States. Ping's expertise spans communication skills, design thinking, digital media and data storytelling, which she imparts at the School of Life Skills and Communication.​


Ping's passion lies in equipping educators with practical, transformative tools that breathe new life into the learning space. She champions the critical importance of generative AI literacy, believing that it is essential for both lecturers and students to harness this technology's potential and navigate its challenges. Leading by example, Ping integrates generative AI into her own classes, preparing learners for a future where AI literacy is as fundamental as digital literacy.​

Dr Samson Tan Yong Tiong

Director, Learning and Professional Development Division at Institute for Adult Learning​


As the Director of the Learning and Professional Development Division (LPDD), Samson spearheads IAL's strategic initiatives to advance adult education, champion workplace learning, and elevate the professional standards of Continuing Education and Training (CET) practitioners within the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector.​


Samson's extensive experience in the education sector encompasses leadership roles such as Head of Centre in Innovation in Learning at the National Institute of Education, where he spearheaded learning innovations, and his tenure at Republic Polytechnic, where he drove the development of continuing education and the digital transformation of learning.​

Claudia Lai Jing Ying

SUTD Design and AI Programme Graduate​

Founder, Silver Online Service


Claudia’s journey in Artificial Intelligence began with the founding of Silver Online Service, a social enterprise dedicated to enhancing digital accessibility for the elderly. Leading this initiative, she managed a cross-functional team to develop a senior-friendly mobile application, securing significant funding and recognition for its social impact. This experience solidified her commitment to using technology for meaningful societal change.​


As an AI Researcher under the Mitacs Globalink Research Award in Canada, Claudiacontributed to cutting-edge projects in computer vision and natural language processing. This experience allowed her to engage in advanced AI research while collaborating with international teams, honing her ability to apply AI to real-world challenges and enhance cross-functional collaboration.​


Claudia’s most recent focus has been on creating a CV dashboard for environmental sustainability, where shedeveloped a UNET satellite model to predict Above Ground Biomass in forest areas. This project deepened her commitment to addressing global issues in environmental conservation through AI.​
