Brass Extravaganza with James Morrison and the Desford Colliery Band

We are delighted to announce that Tanglin Trust School are hosting a Wind and Brass Day for any school-aged wind and brass players across Singapore and Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Saturday 8 February 2025. Led by musicians from the world-renowned Desford Colliery Band, this fun-packed day will include workshops, rehearsals, brass demonstrations and will culminate in a short mass-ensemble recital for families and friends. The Wind and Brass Day is open to all Wind and Brass players, from those who have had just a couple of lessons, through to Grade 8/Diploma and beyond. Throughout the day the attendees will play alongside members of the Desford Colliery Band.

The provisional schedule is:

12 noon Arrival and Registration

12.30pm Performance and Demonstrations by members of the Desford Colliery Band

1.30pm Workshops and rehearsals (groups will be allocated according to ability)

2.30pm Refreshments (provided by Tanglin Trust School)

3.00pm Rehearsals continue

4.00pm Massed Band rehearsal

5.00pm Performance for family and friends

5.45pm Departure

  • Please arrive on time as the event will begin promptly. There is limited parking at the Main Entrance and attendees are strongly discouraged from parking illegally on the residential streets. Please click here for our parking guide.
  • Please wear your parent or staff lanyard if you have one. Attendees without a parent or staff pass will need to present your proof of identification to the security post at any of the entrances for a visitor pass.
