About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

We trace the history of Changi Village. From its war-torn history to its current days’ peaceful easy feelings. Changi, like Tai Seng Village, was once an almost forgotten old world with memories dating back to a forgotten era. It had its own old-world charm. Perhaps, it still does.

Despite having Changi Airport in its backyard, Changi Village still manages to keep its own. We have not heard of any major residential estates to be built by our Housing Development Board (HDB). So, will the old-world charm at Changi stay?

As it is, Changi looks more like an aviation hub than a HDB residential estate. Will the long-term “Long Island” plans add to its cream or will that pan out the dreams we have had for Changi?

We meet on the 19th October 2024 (SATURDAY), 9am at Upper Changi MRT station to decide its fate. This tour will end at Changi Hawker Centre. Bring your bus card. We’ll be using the public bus transport. This tour will take us to some remote places we never knew existed! Don’t miss this!
