About this event

  • Event lasts 14 days 1 hour

"The end of collection is dispersion.

The end of rising is falling.

The end of meeting is parting.

The end of birth is death."

– Buddha Shakyamuni, The Vinaya Sutras

Losing the things we like and dealing with unwanted changes is often one of the scariest and most painful parts of human life. We tend to feel that relationships, jobs, possessions and other external things alone will give us the lasting pleasure, comfort and security that we long for. However since these things are impermanent, they in themselves can never give the lasting satisfaction that we wish for. In truth, genuine inner peace and happiness come from a completely different source.

During this 3-class series, Gen Kelsang Rabka will guide us through Buddhist methods that enable us to cultivate and maintain a happy, peaceful mind regardless of our outer conditions. Through training in these methods we will be able to deepen our inner peace even in the midst of loss and change, and become a stronger, wiser and more peaceful person for the benefit of ourself and others.

About the Teacher

Gen Kelsang Rabka is an Australian Buddhist monk who was appointed as the Resident Teacher of KMC Singapore in mid-2020. He has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and his senior disciples for over 15 years, and has taught in Asia, Australia and the UK.

The clarity and warmth in his teachings have helped many students experience the practical benefits of modern Kadampa Buddhism in their daily lives.
