What is Kintsugi?

Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery using lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. The philosophy behind Kintsugi is to embrace imperfections, highlighting the beauty in flaws and creating something even more beautiful and durable.

Who can participate in the workshop?

The workshop is open to youths aged 12-25 or parents with children in this age group. It’s a great opportunity to learn a new skill while reflecting on personal growth.

Do I need to bring my own pottery?

Yes, participants are to bring their own plate or bowl that they would like to upcycle and repair using Kintsugi techniques. (They do not have to be cracked, and will be cracked onsite)

Is there a fee to participate?

Please note that the $5 fee is an administration fee, and no refunds will be provided if you are unable to attend.

Who is CARE4Uth?

CARE4Uth is a CREST Youth programme for youths aged 12 to 25 and their parents or caregivers. It is a youth-focused community program developed by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), together with the Ministry of Health (MOH) which enables persons living with mental health to seek early treatment

How does this activity tie into the CARE4Uth program?

This activity is part of our ongoing efforts to foster stronger family bonds and community support. By working together on a fun and meaningful task, parents and children can strengthen their relationship, which is a core goal of the CARE4Uth program.
