About the programme

Dive into the world of Searching as Learning (SAL) and discover how Generative AI (GAI) is shaping the search-based learning experiences for Gen Z learners.

SAL is an emerging area in human-computer interaction (HCI) research, focusing on knowledge gained during online searches.

While traditional search systems have been studied for their role in supporting learning, recent advancements like generative AI (GAI) may disrupt this process.

About the Speaker

Lee Chei Sian is currently Professor of Information at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where she is also the Associate Chair (Faculty). She is actively involved in research on issues related to everyday user-information interaction at work, school, or play. Recently, her focus has shifted toward examining the impacts of generative artificial intelligence from an information-oriented perspective. Dr Lee received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer and Information Sciences from the National University of Singapore and her PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Liautaud Graduate School of Business.
