Screening: Revealed: Reefshot
Synopsis:
A stirring testament to 21st century conservation and people power in action, Reefshot is more than just a call to arms to save the Great Barrier Reef. It is the story of some of the Reef’s most loyal citizens racing against time to turn the tide on the danger facing the world’s largest living organism.
Led by the creators of Earth Hour, a small fleet of scientists, activists and Indigenous rangers set out to document and preserve the entire Reef by uploading data to one of the largest natural censuses undertaken in human history.
The clock is ticking. The world is watching. But rather than getting that sinking feeling about The Reef and its fate, seeing this armada in action will inspire and empower all of us to take part in their plight.
There are five key arcs which are most significant to tell the Reefshot story in a dynamic, inspiring, and compelling way: Andy and the Citizens team, the Yirrganydji Rangers, Census scientists, the ‘people’ helping to deliver Census in-water and on land, and the Reef itself.
These arcs all intertwine and overlap as part of the cohesive whole and allow us to naturally incorporate the Great Barrier Reef’s broader issues, context, history, stories, biology, change, scale, time, geography, politics and global action.

Yes, all attendees are required to register for a ticket.
Yes, all tickets are free of charge but you are required to register for the event.
Seats are on a first come first serve basis and we cannot guarantee you a seat even if you have registered for the event as we will allow walk-ins 5min after the event has commenced.

Yes we do allow walk-ins on the day of the event subject to the availability of the event.
Please make sure to cancel your ticket if you are unable to make it anymore as this would free up tickets for other participants.
