Guided Weekend Retreat with Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Rabka

The ultimate goal of the Buddhist spiritual path is the attainment of enlightenment — a state in which all mental limitations have been removed and all positive qualities have been developed to their fullest extent. However, such a state will never be reached if we do not first develop "the mind of enlightenment", also known as "bodhichitta".

Join us for our first weekend retreat of 2025 during which our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Rabka will guide us through one of Buddha's transformative methods for cultivating the supreme good heart of bodhichitta known as "The Sevenfold Cause and Effect". This special sequence of trainings leads us through a step-by-step development of mind culminating in the supremely altruistic mind of enlightenment as follows:

  1. Developing equanimity
  2. Recognizing that all living beings are our mothers
  3. Remembering the kindness of all mother beings
  4. Developing the wish to repay the kindness of all mother beings
  5. Developing affectionate love
  6. Developing great compassion
  7. Developing superior intention
  8. Developing bodhichitta

With plenty of time for meditation, personal reflection, and Q&A, this retreat offers a meaningful and practical opportunity to deepen your spiritual path. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you’ll find inspiration and insight to carry into your daily life.

Everybody is welcome to join this retreat, but please note that this is an in-depth Buddhist event so some basic knowledge or openness to concepts such as karma and the existence of past and future lives will be assumed.

Please note that whilst tea, coffee and snacks are provided during the breaks, accommodation and meals are not provided as part of this event.
