This is an introduction to coding, programming and computer science/electronics through hands-on design and experimentation. In class, students willl get to innovate, design and implement projects using Microbit's Microcontroller board and Microsoft's Makecode Coding environment, through which students will learn and grasp key programming and computer science/electronics concepts.
Each lesson would typically start off with a general introduction of the key concepts that would be relevant and applicable for the session. This would be followed by a discussion and design stage where students would brainstorm, innovate and design their projects. Finally, the students will implement their designs by coding and programming the Microcontroller board, allowing them to see their designs in action!
This course is targeted at primary school children from the ages of 7 to 12 and would help to inculcate interest in technology in children through a mixture of play, experiment and formal learning, allowing them to innovate and take advantage of opportunities in technology in the future.
