Samuel will give a brief overview of the workshop starting with a short demonstration.

Basic Layout and Setup

Samuel will explain the basic terminology found on the front panel of a keyboard, as well as a few tips that may make your explorations more enjoyable.

2:20 PM - 2:30 PM

Voice 101: The Sounds You Play

Samuel will share his approach to choosing the appropriate sounds for the music for different contexts.

Rhythm/Style 101: The Band That Supports You

Samuel will go through a common feature found in entry level keyboards that will allow keyboard users to quickly feel as though they are playing in a full band.

Song 101: Let The Keyboard Teach You

Samuel will explain common song and lesson features of a keyboard that can assist users in learning how to start playing songs.

About this event

This workshop aims to help beginners to understand the basics of what
to look out for in a keyboard and how to understand its various features
through the Yamaha PSR-E series.

This workshop will be conducted by Samuel Tan, a keyboard specialist with a
BA(Hons) in Music, and a performer who supports local artists such as
xena giam and YAØ on various stages across Singapore.
