The LSEAAS is partnering with ART SEASONS Singapore for an exclusive opening of their latest exhibition: Estetika Timur – Rentas Sempadan (translated as Eastern Aesthetics – Cross Borders) by renowned Malaysian artist Awang Damit Ahmad.
Explore the Artist’s New Work
Awang Damit Ahmad, born in Kuala Penyu, Sabah in 1956, is one of Malaysia’s leading contemporary artists. His work reflects his cultural roots, personal experiences, and the socio-political landscape of Malaysia. His journey from traditional Malaysian art to modernist influences is most notably showcased in his Essence of Culture (EOC) series, which evolves into the Estetika Timur series featured in this exhibition.
Guided Tour
Art Historian Theresa Tan of ART SEASONS Singapore will be giving a guided tour of the exhibition, and will also share tips on starting or building your very own collection with Southeast Asian art.
