Meditation Retreat Jul 2025 ~ with Venerable Tan Ajahn Anan in Rayong, Thailand

You are invited to join the Jul 2025 meditation retreat at Wat Marp Jan, Thailand under the guidance of Tan Ajahn Anan.

During these nine days, Ajahn Anan and the monastic sangha will lead all of the participants with instruction and encouragement. The daily schedule includes periods of walking and sitting meditation, group chanting, Dhamma talks, and question & answer sessions.

Retreat Fee: While all of the teachings and facilities at the monastery are provided free of charge, we do ask for SGD $160 to cover the cost of transportation and meals. Each participant will have to pay for their own air tickets. If you wish to make a donation at the monastery, you are welcome to do so.

Notes

1. Noble silence for all.

2. So as to experience the blessings of virtue and gain the most benefit possible from one’s efforts in meditation, all yogis are required to abide by the 8 precepts.

3. For seclusion and peace of mind, all communication devices (eg. handphones, ipad and etc) need to be given over to the organisers.

4. Vegetarian Meals will be provided.

Travel Information:

The participants will all gather together at 11am on the 26 Jul 2025 in Suvarnabhumi airport and then proceed to the monastery together in private buses.

For those travelling from Singapore and Malaysia, please purchase only the recommended flights below. For those joining us from other countries, please ensure that you have ample time to meet us in the airport at 11am.

If you wish to arrive at Wat Marp Jan before the 26 Jul 2025 or extend your stay past the end of the retreat, this should not be a problem. Please let the retreat organisers know of your intentions and they will seek permission from Wat Marp Jan.

About Ajahn Anan (Phra Rajvajiranyan)

Venerable Ajahn Anan Akiñcano took ordination under Venerable Ajahn Chah in 1975 at the age of 22. He spent his early years as a monk living with his teacher, attending on him and receiving his wise guidance.

In 1984, Ajahn Anan established his own branch monastery, Wat Marp Jan, in the east of Thailand. Starting off with nine monks, the community has now grown to around 50. His compassionate presence and diverse teaching approach has attracted students from all over the world.

Ajahn Anan’s teachings emphasise being aware in the present moment, establishing our hearts in kindness, finding inner peace, and reflecting on the nature of our bodies, minds and lives.
