Join us on 14 April at Vivino Wine Shop for a guided tasting of Hungarian red wines with Zsolt Maul, winemaker of Maul Zsolt Prémium Winery in Villány, Hungary’s “Red Wine Capital”.
Hungary has a winemaking history dating back over 1,000 years, with Villány recognized as one of its top regions for bold, structured reds. The country is best known for its Cabernet Franc, Kékfrankos, and Bordeaux-style blends, which thrive in its diverse terroirs.
This session will showcase five wines featuring Hungary’s key red grape varieties, known for their bold structure, firm tannins, and balanced residual sugar. Zsolt will provide insights into Villány’s winemaking traditions, modern techniques, and what makes these wines unique.
