Both segments are designed to clarify and enhance your artistic intentions, helping you draw inspiration from both music and life.
Led by the dynamic duo HI-FLY—Aya Sekine and Kuninori Tamamori, straight from Detroit and Yaeyama Island—this event will explore how to push your boundaries and integrate Jazz into both your musical and personal lives. The panel discussion will be facilitated by Namie Rasman.
Immediately after the discussion, dive into the Jungle Jam Special led by Aya Sekine and Kuninori Tamamori. They will guide you with creative ideas to help complete a magnificent piece created by ALL OF YOU!

HI-FLY :
Hi-Fly, a collaboration between two of Asia’s master jazz/improvisation artists, Aya Sekine and Kuninori Tamamori, united to create a unique fusion of jazz traditions, breaking boundaries with an open-ended approach. Hailing from Japan (Kyoto/Detroit and Yaeyama Island, respectively), they bring three decades of friendship and diverse musical experiences spanning North America, various cities of South East Asia, and Japan, exploring regional Japanese roots and embracing various genres. Musically, their work is characterized by unwavering intention to grow seeds of music, reinterpreting classics, crafting original compositions, weaving sophisticated harmony with haunting melodies, and proficient improvisations.
A recent milestone includes delivering a compelling performance and leading a successful workshop at the Thailand International Jazz Conference 2024, showcasing the profound impact of their collaboration.
