WHAT?

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life (MBCT-L) is a program backed by scientific research. Developed at Oxford University, MBCT-L offers a proven approach to managing depression and cultivating a more positive outlook on life.

By learning to identify and challenge negative thought patterns while cultivating mindfulness and self-compassion, individuals can break free from the cycle of chronic unhappiness and experience lasting well-being.

COURSE FEE:

$550 | $110 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*

*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).


Using SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) for Course Fee:

  • First check your SkillsFuture Credit balance ($4K Mid-Career cannot be used for this course).
  • Select 'NSA + SkillsFuture' or 'SkillsFuture' Ticket.
  • Your place is confirmed after your SFC claim is approved.
  • If you cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the rights to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.


Notes:

  • Please take note that payments for courses are non-refundable.
  • Do ensure that you are able to attend the first session of the course before registering for the course as you will not be allowed to continue with the course should you miss the first session.
  • Request for transfers or make up-classes for selected mindfulness courses are subjected to availability and fees of $30 for the transfer of the whole course and $10 for every request to make-up classes are applicable.


Trainers' Bio:

May Chng was a former school vice-principal and a Ministry of Education educator for over 20 years. She is currently Brahm Centre’s Mindfulness Practice Manager. May has experienced the benefits of mindfulness first-hand in her healing from a family tragedy, which fuels her commitment to sharing mindfulness knowledge, practices and attitudes with participants.

May is a Dot-b certified teacher from the Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK) and a trained Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Life teacher by Oxford Mindfulness Foundation. She has a Master of Arts (Instructional Design and Technology) and also holds a Diploma in Counselling Psychology.


Ms Tan Chew Ping is a Mindfulness Trainer at Brahm Centre. She is now a trained Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Life teacher by Oxford Mindfulness Foundation.

Chew Ping has benefited much from Brahm Centre’s Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction courses and retreats. She has been practicing mindfulness for 3 years, and this has contributed to her wellbeing and improved relationships with her loved ones.

Chew Ping has a wealth of leadership experience, having held senior C-suite positions in the Civil Service and the Preschool Education Sector. She understands the demands of corporate life and the pressures faced by corporate leaders, working professionals, teachers and parents. She is keen to share the benefits of mindfulness, and how it can support others to lead happier and healthier lives.
