About this event
The Substation kicks off its 35th year with a sonic journey through Singapore's music history from the 1960s to today, curated and mixed live by indie stalwart and alternative dance music punter DJ KiDG (aka Robin Chua).
Join us as DJ KiDG spins local music and rare unreleased tracks from his rich collection —featuring pioneers like Zircon Lounge, and The Quests alongside contemporary favorites such as Astreal, Humpback Oak, Plainsunset, Sobs, Subsonic Eye, Opposition Party, and more! As The Substation leads up to its milestone anniversary in September, this DJ Night celebrates the music of Singapore artists, many of whom began their formative years at the old Substation Garden or Guinness Theatre.
Enjoy special cocktails inspired by local indie classics, "Girl from Katong" (gin, dry vermouth) and "Mona Koh" (vodka, triple sec, bubblegum)—a triple-salute to our local music, entertainment and nightlife scene, and the month of International Women's Day. The bar is also extending happy hour drinks all night, and a new refreshed menu.
Come and gather with The Substation and friends for seven decades of music, lyric, and sound that have defined our creative generation for 65 years, including 35 years of growing up with The Sub.
This event is organised and presented by The Substation, supported by KiDG, Vertigo26, and Lion City Rock. Ticket proceeds support The Substation’s mission to champion independent artists. Additional donations to The Substation, a registered arts charity, are welcome to double the impact of support.
