About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours

Community Leaders asked us, how do we garner support from the people around us. What we thought was intuitive, was a challenge for some.

So we hatched a pilot run, and conducted it with a few brave community leaders who did not mind that the session was a bit raw.

The pilot run was 4 hours, and we realised that there was a lot packed into that short time, and there needed to be some time and space for some of the learning to brew and marinate. Thus, we are experimenting once again, with a slightly extended version of 6 hours, to provide more room for reflection, discussion and consideration.

There will also be more time for breaks.

So, what will the session cover?

  1. Learning to ask better questions to understand your target audience better - We realised asking questions do not come naturally to most people. We were taught in school to answer questions, and not to ask them. And thus, we "lost" the curiosity and practice to be able to ask good questions.
  2. Persona Building - We think we know, but how much do we truly know? The brain is wired to get easy access to information, and thus it jumps quickly to assumptions, and therefore stereotypes and judgements come up quickly too. When we are aware that this is so, we can intentionally slow the brain down from jumping to conclusions, to truly understanding our audience better.
  3. Exercising the value of Curiosity - This is a muscle that is lesser used, as we grow older.
  4. Learning about Self & Projection on Others - Knowing oneself, and gaining the awareness of what we value, and how that might be a strength and a weakness, as we interact with the world at large.
  5. Alignment - between self, others and the organisation. Are we clear about why we do what we do, and is othes clear about why we do what we do. And how does this look like in action and behaviour, and in the community.
