About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

The Contra Band Project began in 2024 as the creative brainchild of Rachma Lim and Ernest Tan as they explored the unique duo arrangement of piano and guitar. In Sarah-Kei Lauw they found a kindred spirit, and the added dimension of a singing voice.

Their driving philosophy is to celebrate the passions that unite jazz musicians: a love for spontaneity and for new discoveries. Join them in their 2025 season as they continue to discover the endlessly exciting world of jazz.

2025: Seasons

In tropical Singapore we find ourselves without seasonal changes to guide the passage of time. We live without falling auburn leaves and technicolour blooms, fresh powdery snow and icy finger waves. With a touch of wistfulness and a sprinkling of wanderlust, we'd like to bring our audiences on a journey away from the equator, where seasons inspire art, generation after generation.

”I’d say that I have spring fever, but I know it isn't spring”

Snow is melting in Norway, cherry blossoms are flowering in Japan and tulips are blooming in Holland. Join us at our Spring Session and let us bring you there with songs of hope and awakening. Come add a little colour to your April and a little spring to your step.

Doors open at 7pm.

2 Sets at 7:45pm & 9:15pm.

Cover Charge $22 for both sets.

Organized by

In June 2022, the iconic Singapore music venue Blu Jaz reopened its live music program with the Jazz Loft, located on the 3rd floor of it’s premises at Bali Lane.

The mission of this new space, is to showcase jazz, and improvisation, as an evolving art form, rather than a museum-piece, presenting those artists, both local and international, that are part of the forward motion, and artistic development of the music.
