Thugshop Presents – Daniel Avery, Simon Doty [Anjunadeep]

Get ready to surrender your minds to hours of pure rapture and rush on the 18th of January. Making his debut Singaporean club appearance is none other than the UK’s Daniel Avery.

Throughout the years of being behind the decks and in the studio, Avery has created a unique sonic palette that stretches the limits of genre. With a diverse range of deep cuts that spans techno, house, IDM and who knows what else, Avery’s versatility shines the brightest in the heart of a packed-out dark room. 

That range extends into his discography as well – from trippy heaters like ‘Drone Logic’, tear-jerkers in ‘Lone Swordsman’ and ‘Hazel and Gold’, to ambient works with Nine Inch Nails’ Alessandro Cortini, on top of collaborations with the likes of HAAi, Kelly Lee Owens, AK Paul, and more.

The 18th will take us deep into the fog through labyrinths of surreal rhythms, blending atmospheric tones together with Daniel Avery’s signature strain of cerebral techno. Supporting him on the night is Thugshop resident TMDDJ.

Climb a few steps Upstairs and you’ll slowly feel gravity melting away with Anjunadeep’s Simon Doty on controls.

Although the Canadian DJ had a promising collegiate basketball stint, the callings of analog synthesizers, evocative melodies, and driving basslines which denote his signature sound now were too hard to ignore. 

Fast forward to today, Doty is no stranger when it comes to lifting dancefloors into heady euphoria – going at it at spots like New York’s Brooklyn Mirage, Bali’s Savaya and London’s fabric, as well as releasing music via Anjunadeep and his own imprint in Recess. Alley-ooping Doty to dunk it all on the night is Thugshop’s Boon Shao.
