Knee injuries are a common issue for athletes and sports enthusiasts, impacting performance and everyday function.

Led by experienced sports physiotherapist Balaji Prem Chand, this 90-minute talk covers:

  5. Professional collaboration in injury management

About the Speaker

Balaji Prem Chand, Principal Sports Physiotherapist

Mr. Balaji is the current Vice President of the Sports Medicine Association Singapore (SMAS) and an experienced sports physiotherapist with over a decade of practice. He graduated with Honours in BSc Physiotherapy from Trinity College Dublin and has since developed a strong focus on advancing sports medicine in Singapore. Mr. Balaji has served as the Head Physiotherapist for the Singapore 15s Rugby Team and the National Rugby Academy, working with elite athletes to optimize their performance and recovery.

As the CEO of Heartland Rehab, a growing physiotherapy practice with six outlets, and the Director of Athletic Chamber, a gym specializing in personal training, Mr. Balaji's expertise spans treating musculoskeletal injuries, chronic diseases, neurological impairments, and sports injuries. He holds a particular interest in managing knee-related injuries and nerve-related issues. A passionate educator, Mr. Balaji leads pitchside medical courses for World Rugby and serves as the lead instructor for Dry Needling with Global Education for Manual Therapists (GEMt) in Singapore.

Renowned for his holistic approach, Mr. Balaji emphasizes biomechanical correction and evidence-based strength and conditioning to help clients recover stronger and return to physical activity with confidence. His ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds has earned him numerous Service Quality awards for his exceptional care.

Outside of his professional work, Mr. Balaji maintains his fitness through weightlifting and enjoys spending time with his family, including his three young children. His personal commitment to health and fitness complements his professional expertise, making him a trusted authority in sports injury prevention and rehabilitation.
