Keynote Speaker / Meditation / Metta and Mindfulness

Venerable Mahinda serves as the Spiritual Advisor to AMS and the Religious Advisor to the SBM. He is also the founder and guiding force behind several Buddhist organisations in Australia and Malaysia.

Since his ordination in 1976, Venerable Mahinda has been actively promoting the study and practice of Metta and Mindfulness in over 20 countries with the aim of generating peace, harmony, and stability within individuals, families, societies, nations, and the world.


Growing trends of mental health issues and emotional disorders in our contemporary society

Associate Professor Dr. Gooi Chien Hoong is a Clinical Psychologist and teaching academic at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) where he oversees the Clinical Psychology Postgraduate Training Programme. He has a deep appreciation of Buddhist teachings and was previously involved in research applying mindfulness practices in the treatment of Generalised Anxiety Disorder.


Challenges from growing up to a career in medical practice

Dr. Liu Li Hui is a doctor in Family Medicine training. She was inspired to explore the Dhamma more deeply during her university years. As an active leader in the NUS Medical Dhamma Circle, she has been fostering a supportive community where both senior and junior doctors and medical students can come together to learn, practice, and grow in the Dhamma.


Ageing with grace

Dr. Ng Wai Chong is a practising community aged-care physician and the Founder-CEO of NWC Longevity Practice, a social enterprise providing consultancy, training and research related to aging and longevity. Concurrently, Dr. Ng is the Head, Clinical Development of Home Nursing Foundation.

He volunteers at many charities and government committees working on the support and care of vulnerable adults and older persons. In the Asia Pacific region, Dr. Ng works with international development agencies on technical assistance projects related to developing sustainable and inclusive long-term care and end-of-life care service-systems in developing economies. Outside his formal work engagement, Dr. Ng teaches meditation. He is the Vice President of Cakkavala Meditation Centre.

No. Vegetarian options are available at Hong Leong Building basement and The Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre within walking distance (5 min) from the venue.

Will seating in the venue be allocated?

No. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Check-in to the event starts at 8.30 am.

Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible.

Where is the nearest carpark?

There is on-site parking. The carpark rates on Saturday are 7 AM–1:30 PM: $2.14 per half hour or part thereof;1 PM–11:59 PM: $3.21 per entry.
